Accumulator Bets: How They Work
An acca, also called a parlay or multi, rolls several picks into one wager. All legs must land for the bet to pay, but because the odds multiply, a small stake can return a large payout.
How accumulator odds work
The combined price is each leg multiplied. A three-fold of 2.0, 1.5 and 3.0 gives combined odds of 9.0, so a 10 stake returns 90. More legs means a bigger price but and more risk, since one losing leg sinks the whole bet. Unsure on odds? See our odds explained guide.
Acca insurance and boosts
- Insurance: if one leg lets you down, the operator gives the stake back, often as a free bet.
- Odds boost: a percentage bonus on winnings that grows with the number of legs.
Acca strategy
Do not over-stack: each extra selection lowers the chance of a clean sweep. Focus on value rather than just big odds, and skip bets that depend on each other that a bookmaker may not allow together.
Cashing out an acca
If your acca is close to landing, a cash-out lets you take a guaranteed return early. Learn how in our in-play betting guide.
Accumulators offer big returns from small stakes, but all selections must land. Keep the number of legs sensible, favour value, and protect a live acca with insurance or cash-out.
